Among the passengers dismbarking from one of the many air cabs in Lindblum, a young female nimbly made her way through the station. Slung over her shoulder was a simple traveler's bag and in her arms she carried a couple of books. With shoulder-length pink hair such as her's, it was rather easy for the girl to stand out in the crowd. Emerging from the station, Serah Velius shaded her eyes against the bright sun.
The fact that she had arrived in the Theater District, one of the many places Serah only dreamed of visiting in her lifetime, was reason enough for her to smile. Walking past a few workshops, Serah started to hum happily to herself. There was no question of where Serah wanted to go first - the historic theater known for being a venue for famous plays.
Further up ahead, Serah noticed a child lingering by a vendor selling fruit outside a building. Right before her eyes, the child snatched an apple from the stand...only to be caught by the vendor.
"Haven't you learned your lesson yet?" The vendor shouted as he attempted to pry the child's dirty fingers off the apple. "You pay before taking anything!"
No one else seemed to notice what was happening or they choose to ignore it. Approaching the vendor, Serah decided to speak up.
"Sir, I will pay for the apple. So, please do not raise your voice at the child."
The man scowled at Serah. "Why should I let you pay? The child won't learn anything!"
Taking out some money, Serah held it out to him, "Here, this should be enough, am I right?"
Instead of taking the money, the man slapped her hand away. It was then that Serah realized that a small crowd of onlookers had gathered to watch the scene unfold. As the man raised his hand to strike the child, Serah grabbed a hold of his arm.
"Please, sir, stop this!"
Things were definately spiraling out of control.
OCC: Hopefully, this post is okay. It's my first one!
