Yeah, Tifa did seem to change. In the game she came off as harsh and whiny, making Cloud do all these things because he "promised" her. The man is mourning! Plus, a tad crazy, and she has to boss him around and everything. Aerith seemed to comfort him and push him along subtly, usually letting him make up his mind himself. That's really why I liked Aerith so much for Cloud. She's always the one pulling him out of depression and helping him see himself better.
She was still kinda like that in the movie though... just less whiny and more demanding.

No offense to anyone but I love 12 and think it has a sad but nice story, and I think 13's romance is between Snow and Serah and Hope and Vanille...because Hope is in denial and yeah...I won't spoil anything

Well, I havent played 13, Ive only seen a few cutscenes, but Serah x Snow was definately good I just prefer it when you watch the relationship grow, yknow? rather thanit just being there. And I couldnt get into 12, Vann made me want to chew my own hand off just to have an excuse not to play it. He was just so..... meh. and not very bright either :/

God I hated 13, honestly I did. At first the combat was fun but then it got really boring, I don't know, maybe "fast paced" isn't my style. My favourite system was 10's ~ Then I hated the story because it just turned into drivel with no REAL goal or drive for me to get through it, but perhaps that's just me, to me it seemed like they pointed a spaceship and went LOL LETS GO THAR. And that was basically it. For the whole game. Very few places had any personality or backstory or anything to them, at least not presented in the game, so it felt like an endless trudge through nameless places. That would have maybe been okay, if there'd been, I don't know, Towns or Cities? Oh no, SE can't render towns. Shut up.
I did like Pulse though~ Too bad it was so far into it that I'd grown to hate the game );
And what happened to mini-games? Oh wow, you can do some quests that involve, ! Grinding? Awesome! God damn it 13, where's my Blizzball? Or you know, just throw in a crappy card game, it wouldn't take you too long. I suppose there'd be not point though, since there's no one to effing talk to in the entrie game. All that saved it was its characters. And even then I disliked most of them. They seemed really, really shallow, like Lightning changing her personality on the flip of a hat. I liked Sahz though, he actually made me laugh a little and like him as a character.
13 made me realize what I love in FFs. Towns. Cities. NPC's. Mini-games. You know, things that give a little break from endless, forced grinding?
Oh and Lol at the main bad guy. I thought he was going to be awesome, being a pope with some cool lines. But he just appears and suddenly turns into the badguy. No build up. Nothing. Think about, mmm, IX, Kuja for example. He's presented as a strange man weapons dealer, then evolves into so much more, assuming the place of main bad guy. In VII, we have stages of bad guys, Shinra, then Sephiroth, the Jenova. It builds. It grows, it gets better. IX was like that too, Brahne, Kuja, Garland. Hell, even in X, you at least had Sin, Seymour, Yevon.
Oh, I don't know. The entire game was so gorgeous, but so wasted. I had hoped for so much more. Never again.
Oh and, summons where crap ):
/Rant over.
