History: Kal was born in Lindblum in a military family, the third son. His father raised him and his brothers, Oron and Taiel, as soldiers, intending to see them all enlist. They were joined one year later by a daughter, Yanri. Kal grew up around weapons. He received his first swordfighting lesson when he was only five years old.
But as he grew up and saw his brothers go to war, a disquiet rose in him. His brothers gave their blood and sweat for a country that likely didn't even know their names. It made no sense to the young Kal. As he saw it, one should fight for themselves and no other. His father despaired at his belief, but no yelling or insisting could persuade him otherwise. At the age of fifteen, Kal left his home to become a warrior for himself - a freelance mercenary. His family disowned him immediately after.
Kal wandered the world, traveling through the mist as he ventured from one city to the other in search of work. He found employers in all the Mist Continent's great cities - Treno, Alexandria, Burmecia, even Lindblum when he grew the courage to return. It was on one of those trips that he learned that his father and mother had both passed away from illness.
Kal has seen it all - the destruction of Alexandria, Lindblum, Burmecia, and Cleyra. He was actually serving with the Lindblum army when Queen Brahne invaded. He saw also the passing of the mist. Little can bother him now. He fights on, selling his skills to the highest bidder.
